All Good Things Must Come To An End

As you all know, I have been doing WordPress plugins and supporting it for the past 6 years. These 6 years of my life, I have been through my polytechnic education, my national service as well as my university education.

I just graduated from university in December 2009 and have been looking for full-time jobs. I am offered a full-time job and will be starting work on 1st February 2010.

I regret to say that I am NOT ABLE to provide support for my plugins anymore due to my full-time job commitment. I will leave this forum open and let the community help one another.

However, I WILL still update my plugins whenever I can and you still can report bugs to me via email and I will try to fix it.

If you look at the bottom of the left sidebar on http://www.MaxiMovieBlog.com, you will see that double-quotes had been replaced with &8220; and &8221;
But regular WordPress plugins, such as "Recent posts" widget does not convert double-quotes into escape characters.

Please help me to get rid of that conversion.

Thanks. I looked and it was not easy to find. Apparently the solution is to set "title characters" to "0" in the settings. By loking at the plugin code, it seems this way the htmlspecialcharacters() or wp_specialcharacters() functions (by the way, what's the difference?) will be called with an empty $chars array, hence the $title won't be modified.

Since it's been answered some many times before, why don't you add it to your FAQ or Tips/Tricks sticky?

Thanks again,
Maxim

Yea because it is quite difficult to count special chars and hence in order not to break the special chars, the best is not to truncate them
