Topic: 10 Most viewed posts in stats widget

Hi

I am using almost all of your excellent plugins.

Kindly tell me how to add the 10 most viewed posts also to the wp-stats widget, so that I can show that stat also on the sidebar, along with total authors, total posts, most commented posts etc.

You need to install WP-PostViews as well and then configure WP-Stats. WP-Admin -> Settings -> Stats

Yes. I have the wp-postviews plugin installed and the relevant option on the stats option page (10 most viewed posts) checked. But "most viewed" stats is not coming on.

I find that there are 3 different behaviours:

1. On the wp-stats page seen from the dashboard (http://www.mysite.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=wp-stats/wp-stats.php), all other most/highest stats like "most rated" etc are showing up, except "most viewed"

2. Only "most commented posts" show up under the heading "10 Most/highest stats" on the stats page - (mysite.com/stats)

3. On the stats widget, there is only an option for "10 most commented posts" but not for other kinds of most/highest stats.

I have installed the latest 1.40 version of both plugins. I use WP 2.7

1, 2. Did you enter in your Stats URL page in WP-Admin -> Settings -> Stats? Because it works fine on my end, I have no idea how to help you If I can't reproduce this problem.

3. My bad, in the Widget There is no Most/Rated Highest Stats because it is in their own respective plugin widget.

Can u delete away the plugins file for both wp-stats and wp-postviews, re download the plugin and upload the files again.

I did it, but the status remains the same.

When it works with you, there shd be nothing wrong with your plugin. I don't know what is wrong with my end. The wp-postviews plugin works just right, as you can see the views being shown in all posts.

I'll try and show the postviews widget also.

Anyway I don't intend to use the stats page, but show the stats only on the widget.

Could you please tell me what code snippet should I include to show the 10 most viewed posts on the wp-stats widget.

There is no code you can use as I did not cater for that. Postviews come with it's own widget.
You can try merging the code for postviews into stats but I dun see how Is that different from using the postviews widget and stats widget

Yes. I agree. The stats widget format suits only the overall total stats, not a list of 10 most... etc.

I have enabled the postviews widget and will try to embellish the style.

Meanwhile I am trying to complete the translation of all your plugins that I use to my language viz, Tamil.

I went through the code, and could not figure why it would not display for you. If you are able to install of a fresh install of WP with WP-PostRatings, WP-Stats and WP-PostViews on your server, let me know if it will work on there.

I had kept the "Most viewed template" empty. Once I pressed "Restore Default template", everything works!
