Re/UnInstall the plugin properly
The_Patient:
Hi guys!
* Wordpress version: 2.0.5
* Plugin version: 2.12
I've made a mistake on my poll and I wanted to delete it, but a error appeared like "Couldn't delete IP" (can't rembered it exactly, sry) Then there was the message on my blog, that there are no current polls.
Then I've tried to ReInstall the plugin. Removed the directory from my webspace ("/plugins/poll"). I've deleted the db-entries in my mysql database "wp_polls", "wp_pollq", ...
And then I've uploaded it again, activated the plugin, but somehow there are the same archive-url and the settings from the first install. Then I've entered a new poll, but there was the same message as before: "There are no active polls... blah"
First I wanted to ask, how can I uninstall all the things (so there is nothing left from the plugin) and my second question why did the message appeared, when I deleted the poll?
GaMerZ:
The message appear the IP error message is normal because there are no IP logged for the Poll yet.
To uninstall the poll, you need to delete the 3 tables wp_pollsa, wp_pollsq and wp_pollsip followed by all the options in wp_options name where the options name start with me "polls_".
In wp-polls 2.13 there is an uninstaller, maybe you would like to give it a try, install it then uninstall it, so that it is clean.
Let me know if you are interested.
The_Patient:
Yes, I'm interested in it.
Thanks for the answer :)
