All Good Things Must Come To An End

As you all know, I have been doing WordPress plugins and supporting it for the past 6 years. These 6 years of my life, I have been through my polytechnic education, my national service as well as my university education.

I just graduated from university in December 2009 and have been looking for full-time jobs. I am offered a full-time job and will be starting work on 1st February 2010.

I regret to say that I am NOT ABLE to provide support for my plugins anymore due to my full-time job commitment. I will leave this forum open and let the community help one another.

However, I WILL still update my plugins whenever I can and you still can report bugs to me via email and I will try to fix it.

WP-DBManager / Re: Automatic Backup possible to save on server?
« on: 10 October 2009, 13:56 »
Ahh, I see, and if I just want to keep the automatic backup on the server without sending it to an email address, I just have to leave the email field blank.

WP-DBManager / Automatic Backup possible to save on server?
« on: 10 October 2009, 13:06 »
I looked around but I couldn't find an answer. But is it possible to schedule an automatic backup to save it on the server instead just sending via email?

Would be great to do so.

Thanks in advance!

WP-EMail / Change Date Format in Email
« on: 20 August 2009, 16:13 »
Hi Lester Chan, I like to implement a post date into the email, but on my single.php I use following code to show a month later of the post (instead of showing 07|2009 it's showing 08|2009):
<?php global $post; echo date_i18n('m | F Y', strtotime('+1 month', strtotime($post->post_date))); ?>

So if I use %EMAIL_POST_DATE% in the template, where can I change in the plugin the code, that it's not just taking the standard format, instead it's using the code above?

Thank you very much for your help

WP-Print / Re: Can WP-Print: Print custom fields?
« on: 19 March 2009, 12:09 »
Thank you GaMerZ, that worked for me. It was just confusing, because one said I have to change wp-print.php and some said your theme file.

Thanks

WP-Print / Re: Can WP-Print: Print custom fields?
« on: 16 March 2009, 19:35 »
I try to print out the custom fields too, but it doesn't work and the explanation here is confusing. SanderB said he opened wp-print.php and add <?php $id = get_the_id();?> right after <?php while (have_posts()): the_post(); ?>

But this only exists in single.php or other theme files, and this is what LesterChan says, that you have to put it in single.php.

So do you have to make changes in wp-print.php or not, and what do you have to change in single.php?

Then wxwx made some changes in wp-print.php which didn't work, but SanderB's explanation did work.

I'm using WordPress 2.7.1 and WP-Print 2.40

It would be great if someone can clarify what exactly to do.

Thanks a lot

WP-Print / qtranslate not working with wp-print, please help!

qtranslate

Hey Lester,

I use qtranslate http://www.qianqin.de/qtranslate to have a multilanguage blog, when I use wp-print it doesn't show any content on the print page when I hit the print button. It only shows the title, "Posted by....", date, URL and that's it, but no content itself. :(

Do you know what could be the reason and is there any way to fix that? It would be really great to make this work.

The already contact the author of the plugin and in his FAQ I found the following:

http://www.qianqin.de/qtranslate/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=294

maybe that might help to solve the problem.

Thanks a lot, I really appreciate your help!

WP-PostViews / PostViews and Google Analytics not the same
« on: 08 November 2007, 18:54 »
Hi GaMerZ, lately my postviews got sky rocket, from normally 10 - 30 to 200 -500. I was really happy with that until I checked my Google Analytics account and the numbers were as usual around 30 visit for a post on average. For my second las one, which shows 458 views I only got 7 on Google Analytics. Do you know what could be the reason for that. The last 3 post on http://afrison.com are a little bit too high, and they postview goes very fast up especially at the first day but then it keeps almost the same after one or two day. I'm using WP 2.3.1 and your latest Plugin version.

Thanks a lot

Thanks for the tip GaMerZ, it looks like it has something to do with the theme, in the default theme it works. Any suggestion where I can look what can be the reason in the theme?

And what do yo mean by turn error reporting to all?

WP-PostRatings / Comment Error when Postrating Plugin is active
« on: 02 November 2007, 17:43 »
Hi GaMerZ,

I just realized, when the WP-Postrating Plugin is active and someone tries to comment a post they get this error "The post you are trying to comment on does not curently exist in the database."

I first thought it could be my jquery ajax comment plugin so I turned it off, but still didn't work, after sending the comment, you get forward to http://afrison.de/wp-comments-post.php and a blank page, since the jquery ajax comment plugin was inactive and wasn't reloading the comment in the page.

After deactivating WP-Postrating, the comment works fine again.

I'm using WP 2.3

Thanks for helping

WP-PostViews / Re: how to personalize ?
« on: 01 November 2007, 00:40 »
I know, that's what I meant, where are the words in the file to change, so it displays on the web. I finally found them and everything is in German now :)

Hope you don't upgrade the plugins too soon, so I don't have to make the changes again ;)

Thanks

Alex

Hi GaMerZ,

I translated "views" in the option field to "mal gelesen" (German) works fine, but where can I change it in the most viewed widget?

Also the Stats Widget, where can I change the word "comments" when I want to show the 3 most commented posts.

http://afrison.de/ you can see it on the right sidebar.

Thanks a lot

Alex

Hi GaMerZ,

I upgraded my website to 2.3 and before that I used the plugin upgrade preflight check http://smithsrus.com/downloads/wordpress-upgrade-preflight-check/

To see which plugins could have problems with 2.3 before upgrading. It shows me also that most of your plugins would have problems with 2.3. After I upgraded WP and your plugins I thought that wouldn't be the case anymore. But still it shows for some plugins

"Possibly incompatible: upgrade-functions.php?"
A reference was found to "wp-admin/upgrade-functions.php", which has been moved and renamed to "wp-admin/include/upgrade.php" in WordPress 2.3. It is possible that a check is being made to be compatible with old and current versions of WordPress. If a file also references "include/upgrade.php", we assume it is checking compatibility itself and do not mark it as being possibly incompatible. http://comox.textdrive.com/pipermail/wp-testers/2007-August/004971.html.

"Caution: get_the_title function"
Caution: get_the_title function — A reference was found to the "get_the_title" function, which has changed the way it returns data. It may not cause a problem in this case, but check to be sure. http://comox.textdrive.com/pipermail/wp-testers/2007-September/004995.html

Attached you can find a screenshot of the alerts in upgrade preflight check.

Your plugins work fine so far, just wanted to let you know, not that other users get confused and you might check this out on your plugins and make appropriate changes.

Thanks a lot for your great plugins!

WP-Polls / On one post, polls.js loads forever
« on: 01 October 2007, 03:47 »
Hi GaMerZ,

on one post on my website, polls.js loads forever, about 45s or longer and sometimes the page is not responsive at all and my whole Firefox is frozen. On every other post or page it loads normal.

This is the link to the page http://afrison.de/geburtstagseinladung-2006/306/

I'm using WP 2.2.3 and wp-poll 2.2

Hope you can help me why that is.

Another question, is it possible that poll.js is only loading on pages where a poll exist and not on every page?

Thanks a lot for you help

WP-EMail / Incompatibility with Plugin jQuery AJAX Comments
« on: 09 August 2007, 03:39 »
Hi GaMerZ,

I really like the plugin WP-Emails and used it a lot on my old website. Unfortunately it's not compatible with the Plugin jQuery AJAX Comments http://jowra.com/journal/2007/01/wordpress-plugin-jquery-ajax-comments/

I already wrote a comment on his website today. Maybe you also can check why it's not working if both are running on a 2.2.2 Wordpress Website. Would be great to fix the problem.

Thanks a lot

Alex
