All Good Things Must Come To An End

As you all know, I have been doing WordPress plugins and supporting it for the past 6 years. These 6 years of my life, I have been through my polytechnic education, my national service as well as my university education.

I just graduated from university in December 2009 and have been looking for full-time jobs. I am offered a full-time job and will be starting work on 1st February 2010.

I regret to say that I am NOT ABLE to provide support for my plugins anymore due to my full-time job commitment. I will leave this forum open and let the community help one another.

However, I WILL still update my plugins whenever I can and you still can report bugs to me via email and I will try to fix it.

WP-Polls / Re: steps to update WP-Polls

Thanks.
The database backup is obvious. :)

So I do not have to update the plugin in a gradual way, right?
Proceed with the update of WP (with the step above) and then finally upgrade the plugin from the old version directly to the current one.

WP-Polls / steps to update WP-Polls from old version
« on: 21 August 2011, 14:07 »
I have a WP 2.2.2 :O site and I want upgrade that to the latest version (3.2.1) in this way: from 2.2.2 to 2.3, 2.3 to 2.5, 2.5 to 2.8.5, 2.8.5 to 3.0.1, and then 3.0.1 to latest to be sure the database gets upgraded properly (like that suggestion http://wordpress.org/support/topic/upgrading-from-222-223 ).

Currently I have WP-Polls 2.20 and WP-Polls Widget also 2.20 (?) and obviously I must update that to the last version (2.6.1).
At this page http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-polls/ I see various WP-Polls version.

What are the right steps to update the plugin to preserve the current polls?

WP-PostRatings / Re: It is not working the rating :(

...

The problem now I can't click the stars! How to manage it and make people can rate.
I tried it on the default theme and it was working people were able to rate.
When I place it in this theme, it appeared but with no functionality.
Same problem here... If you take a look with Internet Explorer give you an error rightly on the "rating" line (first character ?)...

1. ...
2. use <?php if(function_exists('the_ratings')) { the_ratings(); } ?> and ensure it is placed after <?php the_content(); ?>
3. Ensure your theme have <?php wp_footer(); ?> in the theme footer.php
4. If above 3 does not work, uninstall the plugin via WP-Admin -> Ratings -> Uninstall WP-PostRatings, re-download the plugin and try again.

Try on the default theme to see if it works.
2. I'm ensure :)
3. Haved..
4. Done.

Work on the default theme... :)
I must try to find the conflict with my theme or plugins/functions/js... but.. I have more than 25 active plugins :O :D

Like me, I put:
<?php if(function_exists('the_ratings')) { the_ratings(); } ?>
on the single.php like "Usage Instructions" but nobody can vote; the stars are ... like blocked :)

WP-PostViews / Re: can I use tags for display views?

... WP-PostViews will count 1 view to the post as long it is visited. Doesn't matter you are logged in or logged out. If you refresh 10 times, it will count as 10 hits.
So, WP-PostViews can't count from a unique IP ?

If not, you can please suggest me another plugin with that possibility ? Thanks.
